I just love flowers; they awaken your senses, brighten up your day and put a smile on your face whether you’re the giver or receiver.
A study was done which found that the presence of colourful flowers heightens the feelings of life satisfaction, triggers happy emotions and memories, and influences social behaviour in a positive manner.
My favourite would have to be sunflowers, maybe because I'm a sun sign or the fact that they just look like big happy faces. At work I like to buy weekly flowers and pop a flower on each of my colleague’s desks, that way we’re all benefiting from the power of colour and makes our area look fun and inviting. How about treating yourself or a loved one to bring some brightness to the day? Just try being grumpy with a gorgeous flower staring at you on your desk!
In Victorian times, certain flowers had specific meanings because of a limited flower selection and people used symbols and gestures to communicate.
